Minimum elements of a news story

For a story to be published it must contain the following minimum elements:

  1. Headline - Maximum 75 characters - A good headline should encapsulate the story. It is insufficient to simply note that it is a news story, the reader should be able to understand the essence of the story based only on the headline.
  2. Secondary Headline (for News Ticker) - Maximum 75 characters - Alongside each news story MNN likes to include the headlines of other stories which are displayed in the form of a 'news ticker' along the bottom of the picture. These need not necessarily relate to a story on MNN but should be funny.
  3. Story - The content of the story should be explained in no more than 100 words, Markonians tend to have shot attention spans so stories should be short and concise.
